Spetchley Park
Gardens.
The
Berkeley family’s imposing Georgian mansion, constructed of Bath Stone in the Palladian Style, was built at the turn of the nineteenth century.
With the exception of the toll caused by Dutch Elm disease Spetchley's 17th century parkland, with its enclosure for herds of Red and Fallow deer, has changed little over the years.
A famous visitor, Edward Elgar, attended school on the estate, and in later years often stayed at the Garden Cottage.
