Scotney Castle Gardens.

On the 780 acre estate there are two castles - the ruins of a medieval castle and moat, and a Victorian built house in the Elizabethan style. The gardens were designed by William Sawrey Gilpin in the Picturesque style. Sawrey Gilpin was the nephew and pupil of the renowned William Gilpin one of the founders of the Picturesque style.
