Derwent Valley Mills is a World Heritage Site
and is comprised of an number of mills stretching the 15
miles from Derby to Matlock Bath. Sir Richard Arkwright’s 1783 showpiece Masson Mills is one example of a Derwent Valley Mill.
Masson Mills are the finest surviving and best preserved example of an Arkwright cotton spinning mill.
