Appuldurcombe.

Appuldurcombe, set in 'Capability' Brown-designed grounds, was once the grandest house on the Isle of Wight. The house is now mainly a shell as it was badly damaged in World War II, however, the 1701 east front has now been restored.

In addition to the house and grounds the 1770s Freemantle Gate may also be visited. There is also an exhibition of photographs and prints depicting the house and its history.

Appuldurcombe is a English Heritage property with free entry for English Heritage members.
