Basildon,
a Palladian style Georgian mansion, was built
by Sir Francis Sykes in 1767. The house contains a collection of
fine paintings, fabrics and furniture acquired by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the 1950s.
Basildon Park is a National Trust
property with free entry
and no queuing for National Trust
members.
