St. Mawes Castle.
"Upon the east side of the haven's entrance, St. Mary's, alias,
St. Mawes Castle, with its point blank ordnance, controls any shipping,
that deserves denial of admission or passage. St. Mawes lies lower, and better to annoy shipping,
but Pendennis stands higher, and stronger to defend itself."
