York Castle Museum.
York Castle Museum's
collections have all been awarded 'designated' status
for their national and international importance. Collections include
Costume and Textiles, Military History, and Social History.
The military collection includes fine collections of swords, firearms, and sixteenth and seventeenth century armour.
As a note of interest Dick Turpin was in York in 1739,
following confinement in what is now the museum.
