Powis Castle and Garden.

"An ancient castle restored after being captured from the Welsh in 1293. It was defended by its owner, Lord Powis, for Charles I. against the Parliament, but surrendered in 1644. Powis Castle is built of red sandstone, and stands on a rocky ridge surrounded by a well-timbered park." Extract from "The royal palaces, historic castles and stately homes of Great Britain" (Open Library).
