Berrington Hall was built by Thomas Harley in the
late 1700s. Harley was a politician and Lord Mayor of London in 1767.
The Hall was designed by Henry Holland a celebrated
architect to the English nobility.
Although the Hall has an austere exterior, the house has
surprisingly delicate interiors including Italian
painter Biagio Rebecca ceilings, fine period furniture
and some pieces from the Wade Collection. The grounds
were designed by "Capability" Brown.
Berrington Hall is a National Trust property with free entry for National Trust members.
