Arbroath Abbey.
"As one sails along the northern shore of
St. Andrew's Bay he may see, towering against the dull sky, the jagged outline of a mighty ruin mounted upon a bold headland, with the sea
breaking in a long, white line upon the rocks at its base. The walls, ragged and broken, tell us that a once mighty edifice has been wholly
demolished."
